Young entrepreneurs encouraged
Written by Gillian Chan
It was such a pleasure visiting the Cleve Area School in South Australia recently as they launch the AgriFutures program to students in years 9 and 10. What a privilege it was to have Ben Ranford, Third Generation Cleve Farmer and Nuffield Scholar, there to address the students on the importance of innovation and the vital part it plays in the future of farming. Unique to this launch, we had the honour of conducting a panel discussion around the topic, ”What are the current and emerging issues in the industry that we want Ag-Preneurs to solve?”. We would like to thank our panelist for lending their knowledge: Mick Noble (Stock Agent, Cleve Certificate in Agriculture Graduate and SACE Merit Winner), Linden Masters (Dryland Agricultural Specialist), Sarah Meyers (Agronomist), Brooke Neindorf (ABC Rural Journalist), Sarah Powell (2015 RIRDC Rural Woman of the Year), Naomi Scholz (SARDI Project Manager Research Development and Extension Eyre Peninsula, Minnipa Research).
